Theatre nursing is a specialised field within nursing focussing on assistance provision within the theatre or operations room setup. Even though the theatre nurse focuses mainly on operations the person can still specialise in other areas such as paediatrics or ophthalmology. The theatre nurse works within a team of medical professionals. Two main areas within theatre nursing are scrub nursing and circulation nursing.
