The Nurse will work as part of a multi disciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel. Must be registered with the NMC and hold a valid Personal Identification Number (PIN), and satisfactory previous experience at Band 5.
Minimum of one year’s post registration experience in Primary Health Care practice.
Experienced and competent in Immunisation, Venepuncture, Audiology.
Competent in history taking, clinical examination, keyboard/computer skills.
First Aid Level 2
Chronic Disease Management (asthma, hypertension, diabetes)
Travel Health
Vaccinations
Weight management
ECG Taking
Management of minor injuries and illness’s
Desirable
Experience in relevant areas, e.g. Occupational Health nursing, clinical supervision, Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice (or equivalent), Travel Medicine, Cervical Cytology, Asthma Diploma, Chronic Disease management - diabetes and asthma, etc. Well woman (including smears) family planning
Competence in audiometry, smoking cessation, ear syringing and vaccination.
