Based in Hertfordshire this job is an opportunity for an experienced Nurse to join one of the UK's leading private insurance groups.

Founded in 1971, the organisation have established themselves over the last 40 years as a leading specialist provider of Protection and Investment solutions, providing expertise on Direct Life and Pension Services Ltd and the leading distributor of Term Life, Critical Illness, Protection Insurance products and Warranty Direct Ltd.

As the Medical Advisor you will work Monday to Friday within a small team to assess and validate mortgage/loan payment protection claims. You will provide a range of medical knowledge to make confirmed decision in processing medical claims

In this role your responsibilities will include:

*Assessing and managing accident and sickness using core nursing knowledge
*Reviewing Claimants medical notes
*Making phone calls to Claimants to discuss their medical conditions for payment authorisation
*Confidently writing letters and medical reports for claims assessment
*Liaising with the claims Technical Manager and highlighting any extended claims that may require IME assessment
*Acting as point of reference for the claims administration team.

To be considered for this job you will hold a RGN or SRN qualification, possess substantial post registration experience and a sound knowledge of medical conditions/durations. You will have excellent communication skills with a confident telephone manner and excellent attention to detail. You will be able to prioritise your own workload with the ability to work to strict deadlines / targets and have posses PC skills
